It is important to note that HEMA in small amounts is not harmful or dangerous. HEMA is a monomer that improves adhesion and creates a stronger, more durable hold. And Apres takes care to carefully formulate each product with just the right ratio of every ingredient. HEMA under 20% in any product is considered safe. Our original Extend Gel has less than 1%. But there are many nail professionals who prefer HEMA free products and we wanted to make that accommodation so that even more people can enjoy and use Apres products!

Wish it worked

I do have clients who have developed reactions to other Gel-x adhesives so I was looking forward to this one working for those clients. I love the way the product soaks off but the sets don’t last longer than 5 days. Which is ridiculous because my clients sets typically last up to 4 or 5 weeks with no lifting. I’ve had to discount clients sets because of this product failing me so of course I’m not a very happy customer at the moment. Would genuinely appreciate it if the formula gets fixed and if a customer care rep from Apres could send me an email to rectify this as I have lost money because of it.

I am one of the unfortunate babes who has developed an allergy to the HEMA ingredient in gel products. Therefore, I was excited to see a HEMA-free option from Apres. I love the brand and am already familiar with the high quality products. I really don't want to give up my favorite hobby of doing my nails, so I really had high hopes this product would work. So far I have used it once and I am already pleased. Thankfully, I didn't have an allergic reaction! I was concerned since I heard that some HEMA free products don't have the longevity of regular gel products, but so far I haven't had any issues. I've had my current set on for about two weeks and have not had any lifting AT ALL. This will surely be my new go-to gel glue from now on!

I wanted to like it...

I really wanted this product to work as well as their regular formula. Considering how often I do my nails, using a HEMA-free product seemed like a good idea so I gave this a try.
My sets usually last 2 weeks with their regular formula. With the sensitive formula I lost half of the nails within two DAYS. I did my usual prep and priming and used my usual tips, did my usual activities. The only thing that was different was the sensitive gel formula.
I wanted to like it, I really did, but it simply doesn't work.
